Tammy, a native of Vietnam, arrived in the United States as a refugee in 1981. Raised in a traditional Buddhist household, she found a profound connection with the Unity Church when invited to attend a service with a friend. The church’s principles, including prayer and meditation, as well as the warm and friendly atmosphere, resonated deeply with her.
Over the past fifteen years, Tammy has been a regular attendee at Unity of Fairfax every Sunday. She has also actively participated in the Youth Family Ministry, serving as a Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.) sponsor, teaching on Sundays, and attending Y.O.U. rallies with the youth of Unity for the past five years.
Before her retirement in 2020, Tammy earned a Master’s degree in Information Technologies from Strayer University. She served as an IT project manager and Systems Engineer for the Navy and US Marine Corps for thirty years.
As a Keeper of the Flame member of the Board of Trustees, Tammy is eager to collaborate with other board members to continue to have Unity of Fairfax a vibrant and spiritually enriching place for our congregation.
