Small Groups Ministry

Our Purpose

The Small Groups Ministry supports our vibrant spiritual community by providing personal opportunities for connections, friendship, spiritual growth and fun.

Unity of Fairfax is evolving our Small Groups Ministry into a "Spirit Groups" Ministry, an exciting new program being launching throughout Unity Movement and New Thought Churches.

Spirit Groups

Spirit Groups take Small Groups to the next level. Spirit Groups are more than a book discussion group; Spirit Groups support our mission of being a vibrant spiritual community awakening each life to the Christ within. Spirit Groups foster communion, connection, compassion, community and challenge.

Spirit Groups have trained facilitators and each member has an opportunity to participate in the processes of the group. Every group is encouraged to include celebration and a community project as part of the group experience.

Unity Awakening Fall SpiritGroups Series
The I of the Storm

September 24 to November 5, 2017

Our Fall Spirit Group series will discuss the book The I of the Storm: Embracing Conflict, Creating Peace by Gary Simmons.

The five disciplines:

  1. communion
  2. connection
  3. compassion
  4. community
  5. challenge

By using the five disciplines in the groups, people will have the opportunity to grow in their spiritual practice and engage with each other in a deep, meaningful way.

Rev. Russell will use the book as the inspiration for Sunday talks.
