Rev. Russ: “Trauma, Self-care, Action, Prevention” – May 26, 2022

The trauma of mass shootings today. This is horrific. We are all shocked this can happen in our country.

We begin our response with prayer and pray for healing, compassion, courage in moving forward. Know what you need to know and then turn off the social media and the news. There is a personal impact when we watch trauma repeatedly, reviewing and revisiting. Over half of the gun deaths in this country are suicides. We have the power through our teachings to move through these experiences. They get our attention. They feel powerful when we feel how powerless the victims were. Realize that the largest killer in America today is traffic.

The biggest thing we can do is vote - elect representatives who make more powerful gun laws. Know you are an empowered member of a group that can make a difference - voters.
