Focus and Intention for the Year of Clarity
Enter 2020 with Eyes and Heart Wide Open
2020 is being called the Year of Clarity, most likely because of our association with 20/20 vision being clear, focused vision. It is a milestone year, as we enter a new decade, and it is also a leap year. Notable things will happen in our world, including the U.K. exiting the European Union, the launch of a NASA Mars mission, and the U.S. presidential election.
The Year of Clarity invites us to enter with eyes wide open, in full focus, and to set our own intention for how we will engage with the world with clarity and how we will collectively manifest a just, loving world where all beings are seen, honored, and cared for.
Intended outcomes for the workshop:
- Individual intention(s) for 2020
- Ideas for moving intention into action
- An exploration of collective intention
During this workshop, we will engage in:
- Mindfulness and meditation practices
- Collective mindfulness
- Heartful discussion and engagement
Please bring a journal, a pen or two, and any cushions or materials that will make meditation comfortable for you. Bring a snack, water, and layers, since the temperature in the room can be variable.

About the Facilitator
The group will be led by Stacey Guenther, who has been teaching mindfulness since 2010—including the Mindful 365 Meditation Sitting Group which meets on the first Saturday of each month at Unity of Fairfax. She is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher through the International Mindfulness Teachers Association, and has studied with Tara Brach, Jonathan Foust, Hugh Byrne, Jack Kornfield, Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Sharon Salzberg. She’s committed to this path, which has been transformational for her.
