Unity Retreats -- A Time Apart

Our Mission/Vision/Goals:   To be spiritually centered; to be sensitive to the needs of each retreat participant; to be the ambassadors of the vision of Unity of Fairfax; to provide an experiential avenue for prayer, music, play, creativity,  learning and sharing.

Our Retreats:   Each year we plan at least three weekend programs for spiritual renewal of mind, body, and spirit.   We have fun ... we have time to be quiet ... we laugh  ... we sing ... and we pray.  We also have free time to do whatever we want--depending on the place and what is offered there--golf, tennis, walks in the woods, hiking up mountain trails...even jigsaw puzzles!

If you have not been on one of our retreats,  let go of all your pre-conceived ideas about retreats, come and take a time apart, and find out what a Unity of Fairfax retreat is all about; you are in for a treat.

Our Ministry:   We have a wonderful group of people on our team and we are always ready to welcome new team members.  Our responsibilities are to plan and execute at least three annual retreats--a winter retreat, which is normally prayer-centered, and spring and fall retreats, usually held at Capon Springs in West Virginia.  We choose themes, locations, guest speakers and leaders, arrange fee amounts, transportation, etc.

The Retreat Team is empowered to execute the above responsibilities and accomplish the above-stated goals in any manner which is in keeping with the vision of Unity of Fairfax and it charter.

Team members meet regularly, as needed, with the Ministry Team Leader who reports to the Minister.  A Board liaison makes reports to the Board of Trustees.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Matthew 11:28

Come to a retreat ... come join our team ... come and take a time apart.

Donna Johnson Dearmore
