Communications

At the foundation of building community is the element of communications.

The Communications Team includes three sub-teams: the Internal Communications Team, the External Communications and Marketing Team, and the Web Site Team. The sub-teams meet together once a month to coordinate and collaborate on planning and projects.

Our responsibility: 

  • Advise on, review and approve communications procedures, processes, tools, materials, media and technology
  • Host informative, interactive congregational meetings using best communications practices to strengthen communications within the spiritual community
  • Reach and welcome people in the community-at-large who seek a spiritual community like Unity of Fairfax

Internal Communications

The Internal Communications Team oversees and implements specific actions to increase the effectiveness and timeliness of communications within Unity of Fairfax.  Examples of this kind of activity are communications needs assessments and communications training for the board, ministers, lay leaders and small group leaders.  Periodic means of communication include board minutes, LoveLight newsletter, email blasts, the church website, recorded CD & DVD program media, and general Sunday order-of-service announcements.   

Potential news and entertainment distribution capability exists in the Atrium with the large screen display (inactive).

External Communications

The External Communications and Marketing Team reaches out to people who are seeking a positive path to spiritual living. 

Unity of Fairfax is a member of the Unity Worldwide movement and a leading proponent of Spiritual New Thought.  Members of this group seek to optimize our public "face" via Facebook, Twitter, and other popular social media sites as well as a prominently placed "New to Unity of Fairfax" section on our Web site home page.

Web site production teams provide both construction and maintenance activities for the church Web site.  We created an entirely new site in the Spring of 2012. Our new site provides added user convenience in content  creation, navigation and the latest technology. We have enhanced and expanded our Web site utilization and functionality.
